A Leopard And Other Stories

This album has a lot going for it. Probably quite a good place to start as a listener, and a very nice souvenir for us of a lot of different times and places.

After "Songs For The Colour Yellow" came out, I was surprised how coherent it was as an album even though it was just a collection of odd tracks. It occurred to me that we could be using b-sides and spare tracks to be slowly, deliberately making an album alongside our "proper" albums. So that is what we did - we accumulated tracks until 2004, always with the intention of pulling them together into an album. This became "A Leopard And Other Stories".

This has some of our best stuff on it, and I think really captures us as a live band. It feels full of fizz, and I can hear everyone's personalities coming through very clearly.

I LOVE the artwork - Jim's coat-of-arms montage really suits the album within. He used images from the songs to build up the picture, which looks great on the white digipack.
